25 International Guests at One World Romania
Each year, during One World Romania, you have met all sorts of people from the world of cinema and you talked about the screened documentaries with them.

This year, we have 25 international guests who will take part in the screenings, workshops and debates. Directors, producers and protagonists of the selected films, as well as representatives of other documentary film festivals, like One World International Prague or Watch Docs Warsaw and from the People in Need NGO will come to Bucharest between March 16th and 21st.

Our most notorious guest is probably Antanas Mockus, the former mayor of Colombia’s capital city and the protagonist of the “Bogota Change” documentary. Mockus was the mayor of Bogota between 1995 and 1997 and between January 1st 2001 and December 21st 2003. Before starting his political carreer, he was the president of the National University of Colombia. Under Mockus’s leadership, Bogota saw improvements such as: the homicide rate fell 70%, traffic fatalities dropped by over 50%, drinking water was provided to all homes (up from 79% in 1993), and sewerage was provided to 95% of homes (up from 71%). “Bogota Change” presents Mockus’s impact on Bogota, as well as Enrique Penalosa’s contribution – Bogota’s mayor from 1998 to 2000. In 2010, Antanas Mockus ran for Colombia’s presidency and his campaign back then determined the journalists of Huffington Post to wonder whether “Has Colombia found its Obama?”.
